We were too late to enjoy the classic car show, though we passed many of them on our way into town. We were quite early for the music though, so we grabbed a bite to eat while waiting for the gates to the 19+ area to open. Ultimately we secured a great vantage point, right up at the fence between the regular folk like us and the VIP area. New local brewery Bayside Brewing from Erieau also had a tent supplying draft, far preferable to the usual fare of Canadian and Coors Light.
Unfortunately, after watching the two local opening bands, we were forced to abandon our post as drunken idiots began pushing their way to the front and pressing people against the metal rails while swinging their arms and spilling their drinks. We retreated to a safe viewing area where we could actually enjoy The Trews rather than defending our spots.
A beautiful day gave way to a chilly night, as the band rocked on into the darkness....quite literally, as at one point the lighting failed, leaving the band playing in the relative darkness and singer Colin MacDonald ad-libbing lyrics like "We need the lights! It's gonna be alright!". Good thing it was a full moon.....which might also explain some of the behaviour amongst the crowd.

Pfft
waste of a good spot on drunken idiots - they probably don't even remember the show
Love your attitude though
I probably would have spit in their beer but I'm kinda immature that way lol
