Father's Day Fish Fry

Better late than never, we held the annual Cox family Father's Day fish fry this weekend - the first chance all of us had to get together in the past while. We're pretty sure it's the Fifth Annual Father's Day Fish Fry, though we're starting to lose track.

At any rate, a healthy school of fresh Lake Erie yellow perch and yellow pickerel fillets were sent for one final dramatic swim in some rather hot canola oil. The usual side dishes of hand cut french fries and Julie's delicious vinegar veggie salad were accompanied this year by an experimental frying of mushroom caps, much to the delight and eventual approval of all involved.

Perhaps the sandals were a poor choice....
