We spent a quiet April mostly at home, waiting for Spring to decide whether it was really here or not. Yardwork, artwork and numerous walks at the nearby Provincial Park saw the month speed past, waiting for a May getaway.
We did manage a quick visit to eastern Ontario to see some family we hadn't seen since the fall, to celebrate Easter and technically also Christmas. This also presented an opportunity to get back to The Cabin for a few hours on a glorious day, for the first time in six years.
The War in Ukraine continued, with an increasingly frustrated Putin focusing on more realistic goals and ramping up the atrocities, uniting NATO and prospective new members in the process. A second freedom convoy, this time primarily motorcycles, headed again to the nation's capital to "take back the War Memorial". The COVID pandemic persisted, though with many restrictions and mandates lifted.
Oh, and we paid off our mortgage!
