Jubilant July

July was busier, and a bit more of a return to "normal", with three art shows and busy crowds enjoying the summer sun. Despite some brutal heat waves, all three shows luckily fell on bearable stretches in the weather.

Art at the Marina in Leamington was warm but pleasant, and the fish flies were relatively minimal. We did a small show at Colasanti's, which was fairly quiet but did at least involve a classic car show as well. Finally, Art on the Boulevard in Erieau was wonderful as usual.

Jane found time in there around making art, to also make two big batches of dill pickles. We also took full advantage of our seasonal park pass to walk several times per week at the provincial park, enjoying various trails and the shoreline, though now busier with summer campers. We even saw a large group floating out in the lake in a giant unicorn!

I also finally had to cut my weeds (and grass) - after some much-needed rain, the lawn returned to some semblance of green. The rain also helped the garden grow, and nullified the need for me to water every single night.

After harvesting our garlic, we also started to see ripe beans and some ripening tomatoes and peppers by the end of the month. We also enjoyed quite a few large feeds (i.e. entire flats) of delicious strawberries, raspberries and blueberries from Pardo's!
