Ranney Falls Locks

On the back side of Ferris Provincial Park lies the Trent River, and locks 11 and 12 of the Trent-Severn marine railway.

Lower lock closing to flood

Doors to the upper lock

Water levels balanced

Free the boats!

Next lock

Drain the water

Off they go

How long does the process take?

Just a few minutes....although we walked up right as they started. Not sure how long wait times are between processes or if they go again as soon as a boat pulls up.

That's freaking amazing! Here I was, thinking it probably took at least 30 minutes. Wow!
