Hot water heater started leaking recently. More concerning than usual when it's in your UPSTAIRS bedroom closet.
Thought of going with tankless in-line replacement, then realized the considerable cost and poor timing of having to shut off and upgrade hydro in mid-December to install. Maybe later. For now, just replaced with smaller and newer version.

Ah yes, we upgraded our water heater recently for the same reason. I also went through the to-tank-or-not-to-tank equation but opted for the track in the end, for similar reasons. That, and everyone around here has the heebie jeebies about these new fangled things (even though they seem to have been working in Europe for decades).
